This collection of playbooks with wonderful cover art done by Nick Ladd has six new classes for the RPG Dungeon World. This bundle is dedicated to shapeshifters, deceivers, and those who would distort the perceptions of others.
False Innocence: Ever wanted to play a psychotic knife wielding child as your character? Probably not, but here’s your chance! Either being possessed by an evil entity, or an alien organism in disguise, or just a plain murder obsessed kid, this class specializes in in manipulating your victims and then stabbing them when they least expect it. The class can influence others by giving them the Innocent, Guilty or Child-Like tags. The False Innocence excels at using these tags to maneuver themselves out of harm by capitalizing on the disposition it puts others at.
Grand Illusionist: A spellcaster dedicated to weaving illusions. Your mastery of the unreal is so great that you can give textures, scents, sounds, and even tastes to your illusions. You can draw large crowds and summon illusionary troupes to help you in your performances. If you need to move around yourself and your allies, or even need to make a quick escape from others, you can use Swap Place to relocate yourself and your companions. This class will be most effective in the hands of very creative players.
Kumhio: A oriental fox trickster that feasts on the hearts and livers. While possessing a more limited range of shapeshifting powers than the Shapeshifter class, the Kumhiop’s advanced moves can generate additional equipment and outfits to aid in its deception. You can even possess and control other people to assist in your shenanigans. Less excitingly, you’re pretty good at digging holes too. But that’s an easy way in a graveyard to get some hearts and livers. Oriental counterpart to the Eater Of Dead from the Dark and Twisted bundle.
Mimic: Every adventurer’s least favorite monster, the poster boy of cheap GM kills, is now a playable class. Choose what type of object you disguise yourself as and wait for the perfect opportunity to strike. You can move around on your own, but your mobility is lacking. Don’t worry though, your easy for your teammates to carry around and later on you can grow legs and arms at will. Or use the ageless tactic of waiting for your foes to come to you! This class excels at stacking on the hurt with surprise attacks, form dealing extra damage to tearing people’s limbs off. And if all else fails, stay still. Hide in plain sight as a mundane object. They’ll never know.
Perseus Knight: AKA the Mirror Knight. You’re a warrior who utilizes glass-plated armor and weapons that specializes in repelling magic. Don’t let the GM’s all powerful spellcasters keep you down, reflect those spells back at them and then cut them down. Their frail wizard robes won’t stop your enchanted glass weaponry. You also have the ability to show people terrible visions when they stare into the reflections of your glass-coated gear. You can show them their fears, what they desire most, how things could have been for them, and things they cannot face.
Shapeshifter: All in the name. You play an alien creature that can change its appearance. You can also reshape your body and swap your stats around. Much like the Grand Illusionst, the more creative a player can get the more effective this class’s powers can be utilized. Though this class has more in common with John Carpenter's ‘The Thing’ than your traditional shapeshifter. You’ve been warned.
