“The Morlocks were upon us within moments. They jumped down from the tunnel openings above us, landed close by and threw themselves at us with tooth, nails and metal pipes. The one that charged me was a short legged, broad shouldered, slavering BEAST while the shaggy monster that jumped howling at Richard reeked so much of old fat and engine oil that the smell was breathtaking even from a yard away.”
About this product:
Looks & Loot of degenerated underground dwellers is a system neutral RPG meant to provide a GM with inspiration for both looks AND loot of men and monsters who spend most of their lives in (post-)technological underground domains: no matter if they are working in this place to serve their masters far above, maintaining it for their own survival as it is their home and shelter against the hellish outside world, or if they are slowly taking it apart piece by piece and generation by generation.
Inspiration for “Looks” is provided by a table containing 50 descriptive keyword that match the product description, provided by all roll of the die. The terms will fit the Morlocks of H.G. Wells as good as a bunch of bunker-dwellers five generations after the bomb or the downtrodden undercity-people of the Mega-Moloch-Cities of the dark future.
Things to “Loot” can be generated via a main table with 30 entries, including references to seven sub-tables, who in turn contain 47 further possible items (thereby 70 items in total). Those are better rolled for (or decided upon) before hand, as a lot of it is tools and equipment that is large enough t be noted on first sight, no matter if they are carried on person or stored in an underground room the player characters break into.
The dice used are d10 and d100 (percentile dice).
